Project 60 — Dimitri’s Messenger
“>In March 2026, Dimitri will cycle across Europe. A paediatrician and professor involved in research into infectious diseases, he had long been reflecting on a broader question: how can one give meaning to a journey, and how can cycling be used as a means of communication?
When he contacted us, his idea was already well thought out. He wanted to take a sabbatical year to cycle across Europe, but not just to cycle… He wanted to foster dialogue. (A description of the project can be found below)
We built his bike around a frame designed for endurance and stability.
The frame, crafted by Simon, was designed to support the weight of the luggage and withstand long hours on the road. The geometry prioritises comfort and confidence – essential elements for a project spanning several months.
Cédric carefully applied the marine varnish, bringing out the texture of the wood whilst protecting the frame for the varied conditions he will encounter on his journey.

To support this adventure, we’ve prioritised reliability and mechanical simplicity:

· Designed to accommodate frame bags, saddle bags and handlebar bags
A build designed for long rides, with minimal technical complications and easy maintenance whilst on the road.
The project:
In spring 2026, Dimitri will take the train to Thessaloniki, in Greece.
From there, he will begin a journey across Europe from south to north, all the way to Stockholm. In each country he passes through, he plans to give three talks to raise awareness of antibiotic resistance amongst various sectors (farmers, vets and doctors).
His approach is key: no blame, no stigma, taking local realities into account, and following a ‘One Health’ approach.
His ultimate goal is ambitious: to raise €100,000 to fund and set up a microbiology laboratory in Mbujimayi, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Cycling thus becomes a tool.
A means of bringing people together.
A platform for action.
